
How to Get a Trolley/PRONTO Free Youth Pass
If your student needs a PRONTO Card to use the trolley, please follow the instructions below:
If your child has a phone and you would like them to use the App to access their PRONTO Pass, follow these steps:
- Download the PRONTO app on your Apple or Android device.
- Create an account.
- Create a virtual card.
- Convert your card to a Youth account online at ridepronto.com, over the phone (619-595-5636) or in-person (MTS Transit Store, NCTD Customer Service Centers). (Accounts converted online will be processed the next business day.)
If you would like your child to use the physical PRONTO Card, follow these steps:
- Email the Attendance/Transportation Coordinator at attendance@preuss.ucsd.edu to request a physical PRONTO card for your child to pick up in the front office.
- Note: Students are only able to receive one (1) free physical PRONTO Card from the front office. If it is lost or broken, you are able to get a PRONTO Card at any Trolley ticket machine or retail outlet (one-time $2 fee, plus a minimum load of $3 at ticket machines, and $5 at retail outlets).
- Create an account here in order to link it to your physical card.
- Convert your card to a Youth account online at ridepronto.com, over the phone (619-595-5636) or in-person (MTS Transit Store, NCTD Customer Service Centers).
