We are proud to have the opportunity to prepare our scholars for a world class educational experience. It is our mission to prepare our scholars to enter and graduate from the university of their choosing. Second, it is our goal to be the pipeline for UC San Diego, increasing the number of scholars of color as graduates of our prestigious university.

This year we have designed an educational model that flips the teaching and learning to an Open Forum for Distance Instruction. Our faculty and staff are taking the Preuss Promise and redesigning a model that adapts to the conditions placed upon us by the worldwide pandemic.

To date, we are leading the work to create a replicable model that other educational institutions can use to mitigate the challenges associated with the worldwide pandemic. Feel free to reach out to us as partners in education as we work to ensure all scholars have access to high quality, world class preparation. It's with great excitement that I welcome you to The Preuss School UC San Diego website!

On July 1, I began my first day serving The Preuss School UC San Diego as Principal. In this role it is my hope to work with our learning community to continue our tradition of strong academic success while preparing for the ever-changing future. As we begin the 2020-2021 school year we are faced with more questions than answers. At the time of this publication, California remains on the Governor watch list due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In response to this, Preuss staff has designed our Distance Instruction Open Learning model. The expectations we have for our scholars remain extremely high, and our mission remains our focal point:

The mission of The Preuss School is to ensure that students who are from low income families and who are traditionally under-represented in most colleges will be admitted to a university as the first generation in their families to attend college.

While I know this is not starting like any other school year you've experienced, this is what makes this exciting and an opportunity to make it one of the best years ever!

Welcome to the Preuss School at UC San Diego website!

I am excited to officially join the administrative team and continue our work to be the #1 Charter school in San Diego. The work here is not done without sacrifice, but the rewards are plentiful and life altering. Scholars who attend and graduate from The Preuss School will be presented with opportunities that traditionally are set for those with a higher education and economic status. Our students are breaking barriers and not letting any social norms stand in their way.
