Daily Class Attendance Taking
- Attendance must be taken every day for every class. Initial class attendance should be taken in the first 15 minutes of each class. For blocks 1 and 5, all students that come in between the start of class and 9:30am (10:45am on Friday's) should be marked tardy. After that time, the Attendance Coordinator will change their absence codes and add a note in Aeries. If there are any discrepancies, please reach out to the Attendance Coordinator via email or phone to discuss.
Weekly Attendance Reports
- Every week, you will be asked to verify your daily attendance records via DocuSign. It is mandatory that you sign and complete each one in a timely manner. If you are not receiving DocuSigns for any reason, please reach out to the Attendance Coordinator to correct the information as soon as possible. This information is required for our yearly attendance audits, and failure to produce a signed Weekly Attendance Report reflects poorly on our scoring.
Monthly Attendance Reconciliation
- Monthly attendance reports are generated every 20 days and are sent to the district for Pupil Accounting purposes. By the final day of the attendance month, all unverified absences must be reconciled by EOD by the Attendance Office. To do so, the Attendance Office will send out daily Single Period Absence Verification forms to teacher mailboxes that need to be verified and returned as soon as possible. These forms are only given out when a student is only marked absent for one class.
- In order to reduce the number of Single Period Absence Verification forms you receive, please ensure that any students that come late are marked tardy accordingly and if you know one of your students is in another class/counseling session/etc that they are not marked absent.
Independent Study Contract Info
- Independent Study Contracts provide an individualized education plan for students that are out for a predetermined excusable reason. Completion of the assigned work counts for attendance and class credit. All Independent Study requests are approved at the discretion of the Principal and affect the School’s funding.
- Teacher Responsibilities for ISC
- When the Independent Study Contract is approved, the contract is sent via DocuSign to all of the people involved in the contract, including all of the student's teachers. At this stage, teachers are responsible for signing the contract in a timely manner.
- Once the contract is completely signed, an Assignment Contract is created via Google Docs, and the student and teachers are given access. Teachers are responsible for adding at least one assignment to the contract per class.
- This must be done within 3 days of the contract's creation.
- Each assignment needs to have a due date and a numerical point value for credit.
- On the due date of the assignment, denote "Credit" or "No Credit" on the contract. If credit is given for the work, a percentage or grade must be listed on the assignment. Simply noting "Credit" is insufficient; there must be a numerical point value for an assignment that a student is receiving credit for.
