Middle School Counseling

The Preuss School Class of 2024 will be recognized with virtual ceremonies on June 17, 2020.  Since the traditional 8th Grade Exhibition will not take place because of social distancing requirements, the 8th Grade Advisory Teachers and School Counselor will recognize the Class of 2024 through meaningful virtual celebrations and a video montage.  Parents and family members are encouraged to attend and participate in all celebrations below.

Advisory Zoom Celebration

Each Advisory Teacher will hold an individual Zoom Celebration with their class.  During this session students will be recognized for Middle School Awards (departmental, honor roll, and perfect attendance) and one student will be selected to give a brief speech.  At the times indicated, please access the Zoom meeting information.

School Counseling Services

The School Counselors are excited to have your student begin their journey at The Preuss School during a very critical time in their lives.  We understand that middle school can be seen as both an exciting and challenging time for students and their parents/families.  Students are not only making a change to a new school but they are also going through many physical and emotional changes that accompany adolescence.  During this time we assist your student in learning the academic and independent skills needed to be successful in high school and in life.

Counseling Services
The Preuss School counseling team provides individual and group counseling, and classroom guidance lessons to students regarding academic and personal/social development. Students may request to see their counselor for the following:

  • Academic counseling
  • Social/Personal counseling
  • Early college/career planning
  • Parent/student conferences regarding academic & personal concerns
  • Individual course planning and registration
  • Crisis intervention
  • Conflict resolution and conflict mediation
  • Referrals to community-based agencies for on-going counseling & support
