Dress Code

Welcome to the Preuss School UC San Diego! Our dress code is designed to promote a positive learning environment, ensure safety, and uphold a sense of professionalism and a culture of excellence. Below are the dress code expectations for all of our scholars.

Clothing items that are compliant with our dress code may be purchased from Mario’s Family Clothing or from the Uniform Store in La Mesa (in store or online). Mario’s offers embroidery of previously purchased items for an additional cost.

Specific Reminders:

  • Scholars should wear polos (or collared shirt) and outerwear that have the Preuss logo 

  • Jewelry should be tucked away and not visible (earrings ok)

  • Denim or jeans are not dress code compliant

  • Closed toed shoes only (Crocs or sandals may not be worn)

  • AirPods and headphones must be removed upon entering campus and secured by scholar in their backpack or Yondr pouch until after school

  • Navy or Maroon polo shirt with a collar and have The Preuss School embroidery.
  • Tank tops should be worn under polos only
  • Tops should be natural fitting, not form fitting. Seams should fall at or below the belt
  • A top must be worn at all times, outerwear is not a top.
  • White or light-blue polo shirt with collar or a button-up shirt with collar and have The Preuss School embroidery.

 BOTTOMS
  • Solid Khaki or Navy pants, shorts
  • Solid navy, khaki, or plaid skirts
  • No Jeans, sweatpants, or leggings.
  • Bottoms should fit in such a way that normal, natural movement is unrestricted.
  • Bottoms must be of a length and fit so that undergarments remain completely covered at all times.
  • Solid Grey or Khaki pants, shorts
  • Solid navy, khaki, or plaid skirts
  • No Jeans, sweatpants, or leggings.
  • Bottoms should fit in such a way that normal, natural movement is unrestricted.
  • Bottoms must be of a length and fit so that undergarments remain completely covered at all times.
 OUTERWEAR
  • Navy or Maroon sweatshirt containing The Preuss School embroidery.
  • Navy cardigan or windbreaker containing The Preuss School embroidery.
  • No hoods or faded sweatshirts
  • Navy sweatshirt containing The Preuss School embroidery.
  • Navy cardigan or windbreaker containing The Preuss School embroidery.
  • 12th grade ONLY- Blazers
  • No hoods or faded sweatshirts
 SOCKS AND SHOES
  • Closed-toed and closed-heeled
