Tiffany Majors

Tiffany Thomason's imageI am excited about being an English and Advisory teacher at The Preuss School UCSD. My career dream was to become a teacher, and I feel blessed to work with such wonderful and intelligent students. I majored in English at San Diego State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1999. While there, my hard work paid off. I made the Dean’s List and was submitted and accepted as part of the National Dean’s List as well. During my studies at SDSU, I worked as a teacher’s assistant for San Diego City Schools. Two years after graduation, I became a teacher and administrator at Cornerstone Christian Academy in San Diego, CA. When an opportunity to further my education arose, I took it. I was accepted to the Stanford Teacher Education Program (STEP) at Stanford University and graduated with a 4.0 in 2004 with my Master of Arts in Education degree and California Teaching Credential with a concentration in the Teaching of English. Upon graduation, I taught ninth grade English and Advisory in Kyoto House, one of the smaller learning communities at Hillsdale High School in San Mateo, CA. Missing home drew me back to San Diego, and I began teaching at Preuss in 2006. I love my students and the model and mission of this school coincide with my passion to teach for social justice.
