The Preuss Promise: Building a Brighter Future
Recognized by Newsweek as the top transformative high school in the nation for three years in a row, The Preuss School UCSD is an award-winning charter middle and high school for low-income students who strive to become the first in their families to graduate from college.
Preuss graduates are consistently accepted to four-year colleges and universities at a rate of more than 90 percent and almost 100 percent go on to some form of higher education. Yet, we do more than prepare our students for college. We provide them with the skills necessary to effect change in society and help transform communities, here in San Diego and throughout the world.
The Preuss Model
A longer school day and school year. A single-track, college-preparatory curriculum. The academic supports students need to succeed. Preuss provides all this and more to students who are used to making do with less. Learn more about Preuss and what sets us apart.
Get Involved
Lives are transformed when dedicated teachers, hardworking students, supportive families and a caring community work together. When you volunteer as a tutor or mentor, you play a significant role in our students’ success.
Make a Gift
When students arrive at Preuss they realize college and a career are within their grasp. They realize anything is possible. When you make a gift to Preuss, you help make this happen. Simply choose the area of your choice whether it’s support for longer learning time - a cornerstone of the Preuss model - robotics, math or art. Gifts of any size help fulfill the Preuss promise.
