Promoting STEM Through INNOVATE 8

Students Ronald Moreno and Julieta Michel were interviewed recently along with Exercise and Health Science department chair Lisa Hawk as part of an upcoming INNOVATE 8 segment. INNOVATE 8 is a partnership between UC San Diego, CBS 8 News and the San Diego County Office of Education designed to inspire and engage K-12 students to excel in STEM learning through interactive, educational opportunities.

Ronald and Julieta discussed their participation in an education symposium on the brain that is part of the newly launched Junior Seau Lectureship Series, which brings selected K-12 students to campus once a year for presentations on the causes and risks of traumatic brain injuries.
