Sophomores Named Kuni Scholars
Congratulations to sophomores Harry Zhou, Tony Chau and Sam Martin (pictured left to right with Bill Kuni and Mary Yang, scholar program sponsors ), the first Preuss School UCSD cohort of The H. William Kuni Scholarship & Mentoring Program. The Kuni scholar program provides mentoring opportunities and financial assistance to select high achieving, lower-income high school sophomores to help them make a successful transition to a four-year college or university. Kuni scholars participate in cultural events, company visits, social etiquette training, outdoor activities and other enriching experiences. They receive modest stipends while in high school toward certain college-related expenses. Upon graduation from high school, Kuni scholars are eligible to compete for renewable four-year scholarships.
