Bio

I earned my BA in Secondary Education for English at the University of Illinois at Chicago and taught at a local high school in Chicago for five years before moving to San Diego. When searching for a new school to apply to, I was immediately drawn to the mission and vision of The Preuss School UC San Diego. The students here seemed to face the same challenges that students I previously worked with in Chicago faced, and I have always found a deep connection and dedication to supporting the underrepresented youth. I have been an English teacher at The Preuss School UC San Diego since 2016 and have also had the added privilege of being an Advisory teacher to students in the current graduating Class of 2023.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, exploring new areas of Southern California, playing volleyball, and trying new food. I am currently pursuing my master's degree in Education Administration, so free time is hard to come by, but I'm grateful for all the opportunities for personal and professional growth!
