Preuss School Eligibility Updated April 2008
LOTTERY FOR ADMISSION IN FALL 2008
The lottery has been held on Friday March 28, 2008, 5:00pm, in The Preuss School Community Conference Room at The Preuss School. Thank you all for attending.
All applicants will be notified of the results via mail by the first week of April.
Application Deadline for Fall 2008 was December 21, 2007.
Interested applicants for Fall 2009, please look out for applications in October 2008.
The goal of The Preuss School at UCSD is to recruit and register the most promising youngsters who will enter the 6th , 7th , 8th , and 9th grades from the greater San Diego area who meet all of the following general criteria:
- All students must meet the federal school guidelines for economic support known as "Title One" or "Free or Reduced Lunch" subsidy.
- The parents or chief guardians are not graduates of a four-year college or university.
- Student applicants must demonstrate high motivation and family support as defined by the highly successful AVID program in San Diego schools.
INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS ON THE WAITING LIST
If your child was placed on waitlist for Fall 2007 you have the opportunity to re-apply. THE PREUSS SCHOOL UCSD's deadline for re-applicants for Fall 2008 was December 21, 2007. You may update your child's application by simply providing us with a COPY of the following documents:
- Current progress report or report card
- Final Report Card from the previous year (includes first semester and second semester grades)
- STAR test scores for the past 2 years
- 2006 Income Tax
- A letter stating the year your student applied to The Preuss School UCSD
Note: Please DO NOT send original documents, only copies will be accepted. In order to successfully re-apply you must turn in all of the documents listed above before the deadline.
