Why did you choose to work at Preuss?

My parents immigrated from Mexico with little education and I grew up in a low-income neighborhood in Oceanside. My access to quality educational programs meant that I grew up to be in the first generation of my family to attend college. My Harvard experience opened the opportunity for me to teach abroad, and so I lived and taught in Morocco for four years after college graduation. What brought me to Preuss was a combination of wanting to return to San Diego and the need to teach students who are growing up in circumstances similar to my own. I know first-hand what the impact is when motivated students get access to a rigorous college-prep education, so I am deeply proud when I see my students thrive in the nation’s most selective universities. Their success is also a constant validation that what we do at Preuss works.

What year did you start working at Preuss?

August 2007

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
