The Math Gazette

Instructor Profile: Dr. Lederman is currently experiencing his third incarnation. Previously he had been a researcher and college professor, and a manager of a commodity finance firm. Since 2000 he has taught mathematics at The Preuss School UCSD, a charter school managed by the University of California San Diego.

Dr. Lederman studied mechanical engineering at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, a private college where every student receives a full tuition scholarship. He received his Masters and Doctorate from Columbia University School of Engineering. Dr. Lederman received many honors including a New York State Science Scholarship, a National Science Foundation Cooperative Fellowship, a Guggenheim Institute Fellowship and a Douglas Foundation Fellowship.

He was president of Pi Tau Sigma, the national honor society for mechanical engineers, and a member of Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society. Dr. Lederman has a broad range of interests, chief amongst them is mathematics.
